What better way to start off a new week than with a roundup of yummy food from everyone’s a favorite grocery store? I’ve written about my favorite TJs buys in the past, but have tried a few more great items over the past few months. As always, I’d love to know what your favs are! There are so many intriguing items to try and not enough meals (or time!) in the week :)

Fig Bites: I realize that essentially knockoff Fig Newtons aren’t that exciting, but I think I like these better than the original. They’re also just $1.99 for the entire pack which is a steal! J and I have been going through them quickly because they’re a great snack item and easy to take to work.

Scallion Pancakes: These are probably my most purchased frozen food right now because they’re incredibly delicious and so easy to make. I tend to cook them on the stove (crispy edges!) and will eat them with this sauce. Add some cauliflower rice and veggies to make a small but satisfying meal!

Sweet Chili Sauce: The sauce I eat with my scallion pancakes, and pretty much all other Asian food (including these veggie burgers)! It’s incredibly inexpensive ($1.29/bottle at my TJs) and is a great mix of sweet + tangy.

Blood Orange Italian Soda: I bought a bottle of this kind of on a whim a few weeks ago and it’s basically the best mixer for vodka or gin–take my word for it! Definitely something to keep in the fridge for impromptu entertaining this summer.

Freeze Dried Strawberries: These were an impulse purchase one day after I’d been eyeing them for months…I thought they’d be a good snack item solo, but they ended up being more tart than I’d hoped for that purpose. Instead, they made a grew crunchy salad topping…it’d be a great thing to have on hand to add a little something to a summer salad!

Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip: Ok I feel a little ridiculous putting this on here because once you read the name, you know it has to be delicious. Butttt, if you haven’t tried it, add this to your grocery list immediately! It’s addicting and amazing–eat it with a plan potato chip if you can. Definitely something to have out at your next party or BBQ!

Kung Pao Tempura Cauliflower: This is one of those items that you can rightly be skeptical about at first…I was, but it really ended up surprising me! I’d recommend adding about 3 minutes to the baking time for an extra crunch exterior. Cook up some cauliflower rice and spinach to make it a complete meal! I’ll also heat up some frozen dumplings if I’m feeling fancy.

Cherry Blossom Pinot Noir: I’m pretty sure this is my favorite sub-$5 wine…I’m not a vino by by any means, but have been consistently impressed with this pinot for the past couple of years. It’s especially fun to buy during cherry blossom season in the spring!

Mushroom Turnovers: Guys. These turnovers.are.INCREDIBLE. Like, arguably one of the best appetizers ever. I don’t like to reserve them solely for when we have guests, so sometimes buy them to pair with a salad for an easy weekday dinner.

    Crazy that I’ve never bought ANY of these! Definitely picking up some scallion pancakes next time I go!
