It finally feels like spring! As much as I love the cold and am bummed we didn’t get a “real” winter here in DC, the 80 degree days have been pretty splendid aside from the allergies they bring. I wanted to share a few things I bought recently + some more spring and summer finds to hopefully help fill some gaps in your closet! Because don’t we all need a few new goodies this time of year? :)
PS: One of the biggest and best sales of the year starts today, too, and of course comes out after I made this entire post! So the deets are at the end!
TWO // Sole Society sandals: These look like the perfect commuting heeled sandal! I’m debating picking up a pair even though I have two nearly identically-colored wedges that just aren’t as easy to wear on my way to and from work. The modest price helps, too!
THREE // Glint clutch: Summer clutches are important because hello, key wedding accessory! I think you can get a lot of use out of one if you get a simple, versatile color like the “natural.”
FOUR // L.L. Bean button down: Clearly I’m a fan of L.L. Bean’s non-outerwear, and this shirt is no exception. The classic stripes and cut are pretty much perfect, and I’d pair it with white jeans or shorts all summer long!
FIVE // Old Navy boxers: Guys, I’ve been living in these. Wearing them as I type this! They’re incredibly cheap and really well-made for the price. They do run a bit small so size up, especially if you’re putting them in the dryer! Their Signature collection usually has dressier pieces but the prices won’t break the bank.
SIX // Persifor dress: I love Persifor for their easy yet pulled together silhouettes and prints. The dresses always get just as many compliments in the workplace as they do after hours! While most of their poly-blended dresses are especially great for travel (they don’t wrinkle), I’m excited that they’ve introduced some 100% cotton styles, including this pretty flutter sleeve number. It’s perfect for summer days and nights alike.
SEVEN // M.Gemi flats: Another winner from my favorite shoe brand! I really think M.Gemi shines in the spring + summer (probably because their silhouettes are more classic and less edgy than in the winter…though I end up loving those too, even if they aren’t things I’d wear myself) and this flat is no exception. If you haven’t heard me rave about them before, just know that the quality and comfort is unmatchable and completely justifies the price. Not to mention the customer service…they’re doing so many things right! Bonus! If you haven’t shopped with them before, you can take $40 off your first purchase with code dutia413.
EIGHT // Lilly Pulitzer luggage tag: Luggage tags aren’t the most intuitive thing to buy, but once you have one it’s kinda like, why did I put up with annoying paper airline ones before this? They’re also generally pretty inexpensive–this one’s under $15–so you can at least get one on your main carry-on!
NINE // J.Crew swimsuit: After having not bought a new swimsuit for four years, it’s about time a new one made its way into my closet! This J.Crew one has a good amount of support up top and is pretty much as classic/versatile as it gets: navy and white stripes, obvi!
TEN // Tuckernuck necklace: I picked this necklace up at Tuckernuck’s sample sale a few weeks ago and it’s quickly become my go-to statement piece. I love that it’s a little different than the statement necklaces you see at major retailers and it’s also really lightweight. Can’t wait to wear it all year round!
ELEVEN // J.Crew striped dress: A good 3/4 or long sleeved cotton striped dress is wayyy too hard to find so when you see one, you have to get it. Of course J.Crew came through on this one (my only question is how it took them this long), and the detailing on the sleeves makes the whole thing even sweeter. Dress it up for work if you’re in a more casual biz cas office!
SHOP THE POST:
And last but not least, the Shopbop sale starts today and gets you 20% off orders up to $500 and 25% off orders over $500 with code EVENT17. The sale ends on Sunday night and not to be dramatic, but things go especially quickly during this one–we’re talking an hour or less for some really popular items. Shopbop has a great return policy + free shipping, so the best move is to order whatever you think you want, including multiple sizes, and send back whatever you decide not to keep. I love this particular sale because there’s no minimum (unlike their tiered sales) and it’s generally a time when I pick up a couple staples, like jeans, or summery pieces to fill gaps following a closet cleanout. Plus, the same sale is happening over for the guys at East Dane.
A few highlights include my favorite style of stretchy jean (be sure to size down), the perfect neutral heeled sandal that comes out to well under $100 (picked it up in last year’s sale!), these pretty wedges, the shoes I’d really consider finally pulling the trigger on if I hadn’t just moved, and a bunch of picks below:
